Getting affordable health insurance for kids in your care is your priority.
It’s ours, too. Children in foster care and adoption assistance may be eligible for KanCare. And they can get a full range of health benefits and more from the Healthy Blue plan.
Healthy Blue offers Healthy Rewards programs and extra benefits.
Healthy Blue will offer care coordination for children with special healthcare needs. You can call Healthy Blue for a care coordination screening at 833-838-2593 (TTY 711).

How to sign up and switch health plans
Youth who have aged out of foster care at age 18 are eligible to receive KanCare benefits until age 26. To sign up, you can call the KanCare Enrollment Help Line at 800-792-4884 (TTY 711). For help with questions about enrollment or changing health:
Community partners and support
The Department of Children and Families Independent Living Program provides services and supports to youth for a successful transition to self-sufficiency. Find the DCF Independent Living Coordinator in your region.
Kansas Youth Advisory Council Youth who are or have been involved in child welfare services in Kansas may participate in youth council activities. Each Child Welfare Case Management Provider hosts a Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC). Learn more about the Kansas Youth Advisory Council.
Education and Training Vouchers (ETV) are available to eligible youth for assistance toward post-secondary education and certified training programs. Learn more about vouchers.
